Two weeks ago, our Rainbow Dragon teacher, Mrs. Beatriz, received heartbreaking news: her daughter, Jamie’s car was struck and totaled by a semi-truck, leaving her with serious injuries and a long 20–30 week recovery ahead.

Jamie is in San Diego with only her university roommates nearby, unable to work while facing mounting costs for tuition, room and board, daily living needs, and ongoing medical care.

Through all of this, Mrs. Bea has continued showing up for our children with so much love, while working extra to help cover her daughter’s expenses—an impossible load no parent should have to carry alone.

This Friday, Mrs. Bea will travel to San Diego to be by her daughter’s side, and the hope is that our APS community can help ensure she can focus on caregiving without having to choose between being present for her child and keeping up with bills.

APS is a tight-knit family, and our teachers pour their hearts into our kids every day; let’s take a moment to lift up one of our own by easing the burden on Mrs. Bea’s family so she can remain close to her Jaime throughout recovery—whether through meals, care packages, financial support, sharing this fundraiser, or sending kind words and encouragement.
