Supporting Monika and her Family

Dear Friends,
On 30th October, Monika Kumari and her husband (Vikrant Chand) were on a weekend trip where they met with a fatal accident. Monika lost her husband in the accident and herself has suffered fatal injuries.
She was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center with critical injuries. On the same day, doctors performed C4-C5 spinal cord surgery as her spine got compressed. Currently, she is completely paralyzed below her neck. She is currently still in ICU going through multiple surgeries and treatments for recovery. As per doctors, it can take months of medical treatments & physiotherapy to get her back to normal life.
Vikrant was working on L1. She was working on L2 dependent Visa. She will lose the insurance coverage from January as the primary holder is no more and needs it way more to go for the recovery.
Her family (Father and Sister) travelled from India last week on emergency visas and has been trying to help Monika to get her back on her feet. Her father being aged and having his own health concerns, is fighting hard in this new country. She has been able to talk in last one week and showing some progress. As per doctors, after 6 weeks of the spinal surgery, an MRI scan will be performed to estimate the extent to which the spine has healed.
As Monika's friend, we are starting this gofundme to help relieve the financial pressure for herself and her family as they will need every penny to care for their needs. The funds raised will help them to take care of medical bills as well for living expenses for her family.
