On February 25, 2026, Monica Vick lost her husband of nearly 26 years, David, after a long and difficult battle with health issues. David (many of you know him as Dave) passed peacefully at home, with Monica by his side.

David was a creative and thoughtful person who loved art, graphic design, and web design. Together, he and Monica built a life grounded in both creativity and practicality. Monica, who has worked at Petco for over 18 years, shares that same balance: she creates beautiful mobiles and jewelry while also excelling in the logistical side of her work.

In the wake of David’s passing, Monica is now facing a difficult and uncertain transition.

She is living in a home that has been in David’s family for decades, originally purchased by his mother. Unfortunately, the house now requires significant repairs, including foundation issues, roof problems, broken windows, and failing garage doors. The scope of these repairs is overwhelming, and she is now faced with a hard choice: invest in major repairs to stay, or find a way to move on from the home entirely.

At the same time, there are outstanding medical bills from David’s long illness. While these bills are not immediately pressing, they remain a financial burden.

We are raising funds to help Monica navigate this transition -- whether that means making essential repairs to keep her home safe and livable, or covering the costs associated with relocating and starting over. Funds will also help ease the burden of medical expenses and provide stability in the months ahead.
