This week, our surgical team mourns the loss of a beloved friend and colleague, Mohamed Hassan.
Mohamed was a talented surgical assistant adored by everyone he worked with. He was a gentle giant - kind, quietly funny, and easy-going. A doctor back home in Cairo, Egypt, we were all cheering him on as he started his U.S. residency program in New York last month. Mohamed worked tirelessly to provide for his wife and children to whom he was a devoted husband and father.
On Monday, March 16th, on his way back to NY after a weekend with family, Mohamed was involved in a fatal car accident and succumbed to his injuries on scene. He was just 40 years old.
Please consider helping us support Mohamed’s wife, Maryam, and their 3 children (aged 8,4, and 1 years) as they navigate this extremely difficult and uncertain time without any local extended family. As Mrs. Hassan becomes sole caretaker, donations will assist with living expenses for this young family.
We will miss our dear friend Mohamed and pray for peace and comfort for his loved ones. Thank you for your support.
