It is with broken hearts that we share police have advised human remains have been located and investigators believe they are those of our beautiful cousin Jana.

A 48-year-old man has been arrested and charged with Jana’s murder.

Our family is absolutely devastated and trying to process this unimaginable loss. We cannot thank everyone enough for the love, messages, donations, shares and support you have shown Faith, Michael, Jana’s beautiful baby boy, and wider family.

We will make sure Jana’s baby boy always knows just how deeply his mummy loved him and how incredibly special she was. Her memory will live on through him forever.

Our beautiful cousin, Jana Armstrong, is currently missing from Newtown in Toowoomba, QLD.

As our family lives through the unimaginable fear and heartbreak of not knowing where Jana is, her beautiful four-month-old baby boy is safe, loved and being cared for by his aunty, Jana’s sister, Faith, and Faith’s husband, Michael.

Faith and Michael have opened their hearts and their home to Jana’s little boy and will be there to love, protect and care for him for the future.

But the weight this family is carrying is almost impossible to put into words.

Only last month, Faith and Michael experienced the devastating loss of their own newborn baby and had to do what no parent should ever have to do and say goodbye and lay their baby to rest.

Through that unimaginable heartbreak, Jana was right beside Faith.

Jana was pivotal in helping organise her baby’s funeral, supporting her sister and holding her family together during the darkest time of their lives. In addition, Jana, Faith and brother’s Sam and Dean, lost their Mum, Robyn, to breast cancer 7 years ago and their Dad, Ron, to a heart attack 5 years ago.

Jana was the glue for the family. She is the person who shows up. She is loving, selfless, caring and the kind of person who will put everyone else before herself. She would do absolutely anything for the people she loves.

And now, Faith and Michael are facing another unimaginable chapter while caring for Jana’s beautiful baby boy and navigating the ongoing search for Jana.

My sister Lara and I have created this fundraiser to surround Faith and Michael with the same love and support that Jana has always so freely given to everyone else.

Funds raised will go directly to Faith and Michael to help ease the financial pressure of suddenly caring for a four-month-old baby, including everyday living expenses, baby supplies and any other costs that arise as they navigate the incredibly difficult road ahead.

We don’t know what the coming days, weeks or months will bring.

What we do know is that Faith and Michael should not have to carry the financial burden on top of the enormous grief, fear and emotional weight they are already carrying.
