Daisy was born with a congenital heart defect and in 2015 it was clear she would need a transplant in order to survive. In January 2016 she received a new heart and has done remarkably well, though this shy, sensitive girl has lived with a lot of pain in her short life. Now she is showing signs of rejection.
She will undergo a treatment called extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) which will require a permanent port be placed in her chest. She will then have to travel to Little Rock twice a week with her father, requiring both of them to miss work, in order to receive anti-rejection meds via the port. At this time it is not clear how much her insurance will cover, and traveling to Little Rock from NW Arkansas will be expensive--with the cost of fuel rising daily not to mention meals and lodging while receiving treatment.
We are humbly asking for your assistance to offset medical costs, fuel, food and housing while she is receiving this life-saving treatment to stave off rejection.
This is on top the regular treatments, hospital stays and biopsies that Daisy has to undergo because of her heart transplant.
If you are unable to help financially, we ask that you lift Daisy up in prayer.
