Supporting Mike and Family through Brain Cancer

We are seeking support for the Hudanish & Fowler families. Michael Hudanish, our loving and engaged friend, father and grandfather was recently diagnosed with inoperable, terminal brain cancer. The doctors said he may have 5-15 months as the tumor is deep and large. Mike’s wife Debby, along with their daughter Katie & son-in-law Nathan, and their son Kevin & daughter-in-law Sage and their grandchildren will be alongside Mike through this journey and we wish to provide them all the practical and financial support possible. As many friends of the family will attest, Mike has been like a second father or grandfather to many and this diagnosis comes as a devastating shock. I’m just Nathan’s sister - and yet my own children have known Mike as Grandpa Mike for nearly 18yrs.

This diagnosis comes at a time when Debby had been furloughed from work in March 2020 and planned to go back this month. She expected to work 2 more years to pay off their debt, then off to enjoy their retirement together. This diagnosis and the uncertain year ahead has us preferring that Debby would be able to instead be by Mike’s side and that we could help pay the family’s expenses and decrease their debt along the way. It would be a blessing to Mike as he fears leaving Debby with these obligations.

Mike has always been an active member of the community. He served as a board member of the HOA. He worked for Las Vegas Umpire Association and was most currently with Clark County Umpire Association. He and the family enjoyed boating on Lake Mead, attending sporting events and still hope to make more memories as long as possible.

Mike is currently on Hospice, receiving steroid treatments to ease the pressure and manage the pain and discomfort. He is so grateful for the encouragement of all of his friends and family as this is an incredibly emotional time for him.
