On Saturday, March 21st, Mika Lee-Philipsek was involved in a devastating motorcycle accident. After a week in the ICU, she passed away from her injuries on Friday, March 27th. In her passing, Mika gave the gift of life through organ donation, helping others in a profound and lasting way.
Mika was truly one of a kind. She described herself as “a runner, a rider, and a cat lady,” but to those who knew her, she was so much more—kind, adventurous, and deeply loved. She had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her cats, and brought warmth and light to the people around her. We take comfort in imagining her reunited with the cats she loved over the years.
Originally from Japan, Mika’s family is traveling from Nagoya to Tulsa to say their final goodbyes and bring her home. We are creating this fund to help ease the financial burden of this sudden loss, including international travel, arrangements, and other unexpected expenses during this difficult time. While some costs may be supported through existing resources, there are still significant expenses associated with travel and final arrangements.
Due to international banking limitations, funds are being collected by a close friend on behalf of Mika’s family. All donations will be used to support travel, arrangements, and related expenses, and any remaining funds will be provided directly to her family.
