I am Joel Prickett, and I am starting a fundraiser for my sister, Michele Prickett. On Monday, she lost her son (my nephew) to a lengthy battle with diabetes, kidney failure, and all the complications that come with those issues. She also lost her husband just 2 years ago. She keeps her faith in God, but her hurt and need are real.

Jobie had spent a lot of time the last 6 years in and out of the hospital. Michele would work her early general manager shift, then go spend time with Jobie in the afternoon. Jobie was the best of all of us. Through amputations, dialysis, and, in the end, constant pain, he always made you feel loved and special. His smile, his love, his laugh, and his relentless fight will live on as an example for all who knew him.

If the Holy Spirit leads you to give to Michele, please give. If you only feel called to pray, pray passionately. Michele and the family will continue to make it, but as we all know, having a little help to cover the financial burden of a long sickness and funeral expenses can bring a small level of peace.
