Supporting Melissa through Pancreatic Cancer

Dear friends and family,

We have previously shared that my mother Melissa was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer early in November. Originally we thought that the cancer was caught early on, this was actually not as correct as we thought. The cancer spread quickly to her liver. This made my mom ineligible for the surgery that could have cured her cancer. Her current doctor is changing her treatment to focus on palliative care. They are still going to continue chemo, but the goal is to keep her comfortable while trying to extend her life as long as possible. The current prognosis is about 1 year.

We have submitted her medical records and file to the Mayo clinic to see if they could offer any other treatments. She has been accepted but will have to travel back and forth to Minnesota. She is waiting for her insurance policy to pay, but they are delaying the process. The family could really use help with funds to pay for travel and expenses as they are down to one month of expenses left in savings after being let go from her job.
