As many of you may know, Theresa Drake passed away 2/14/26. She was the beloved wife of Max Drake for almost 35 years. Max is a well known blues guitarist, who has played 50+ years across NC and the US.

Theresa was formerly a registered nurse at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Sale where she was held in high regard. When Max started having medical problems (heart issues, then later lung cancer surgery) Theresa was by his side and made sure he got the best care. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with a chronic degenerative disease several years ago, and the tables were turned and Max became the caregiver.

For many years it has been very difficult on them physically, emotionally and financially. Several friends have been trying to help Max sort through paperwork, which Theresa used to take care of, and help him through this difficult time. Some friends have donated towards funeral expenses, which is greatly appreciated. We have decided to set up this fund to offset the remainder of those expenses, but also to help Max get through the next few months as he tries to get back on his feet. Any donations will be greatly appreciated as we rally around Max going through this loss. Thank you for your generosity and for sharing.
