We are starting this GoFundMe on behalf of Maureen and her daughter, Marleyna Rowland.

On Monday, August 4th, Brandon Rowland—beloved husband and father—began experiencing chest discomfort after playing hockey, a sport he is passionate about. He drove himself home, told Maureen he wasn’t feeling well, and they immediately went to the hospital.

At the hospital, an EKG confirmed he was having a heart attack. While in the emergency room, Brandon went into a dangerous heart rhythm. He was resuscitated, taken to the cardiac cath lab, and had a stent successfully placed. Though he suffered some heart damage, he was discharged on August 7th.

Tragically, just days later on Sunday, August 10th, Brandon collapsed at home. Maureen quickly called 911 and began CPR. Emergency responders arrived, shocked him four times, and were able to regain a heartbeat before bringing him back to the hospital.

Since then, Brandon has been on life support. While doctors were able to stabilize his heart, the time without oxygen caused severe brain injury. Despite being taken off sedation, he has not regained consciousness. His condition remains critical, and his future is uncertain.

Brandon and Maureen share a beautiful love story. They met while working for a cruise line, traveled the world together, married, and eventually welcomed their daughter, Marleyna, on July 26, 2023. They moved to the U.S. last summer—Brandon became a realtor, and Maureen, a former teacher, began pursuing a career as a laboratory technician. Just a few weeks ago, their sweet Marleyna celebrated her 2nd birthday.

Brandon is full of life and light—known for his big personality, positivity, energy, and unforgettable laugh. He loves sports, traveling, video games, and most of all, his family. He is a devoted husband, an incredible father, and a cherished son, relative, and friend.

This tragedy has left Maureen and little Marleyna facing unimaginable challenges. We are asking for your support to help Maureen cover expenses during this heartbreaking time and to provide security for her and Marleyna as they navigate the uncertainty of Brandon’s condition.
