Supporting Marlon: From Surf to Sky

Marlon Illig has been dreaming of becoming a pilot for years.

Many of us know and love Marlon from our time surfing with him as an instructor at Surf Simply in Costa Rica. After years of planning, studying, and saving, he has the opportunity to pursue a life-long dream to become a pilot. But he needs our support.

Marlon studied and passed the admissions test, earning a spot to a prestigious flying program in Spain called FlyBy School. The school includes 238 hours of flight training, 812 hours of classroom training, exam fees, and certifications to prepare Marlon for work as a commercial pilot.

A few former students are sponsoring this GoFundMe campaign because we appreciate the gift of surfing that he has taught us, and want to return the gift of pursuing a dream by supporting Marlon as he embarks to become a pilot. Who knows, maybe one day he flys us directly to our favorite surf spot!
