Our dear friend and colleague, María Luisa Dávalos, is going through a very delicate health situation and needs our support.

On October 3rd, María Luisa was hospitalized due to pleuritis, a painful lung condition. During her stay, she contracted an aggressive hospital-acquired infection that damaged part of her lung, forcing her to undergo two surgeries to try to combat the infection. Despite these efforts, she is still battling the infection, and doctors have indicated that she will need to remain in the hospital for at least three more weeks to recover.

Unfortunately, María Luisa's insurance has reached its coverage limit, and she now has to cover medical expenses herself, which has led to a growing debt that has become unsustainable.

Moreover, the doctors discovered that the underlying cause of her lung inflammation is cancer, and now María Luisa also faces the challenge of undergoing chemotherapy and cancer treatment, which is also not covered by her current insurance.

María Luisa is the primary breadwinner for her family, which includes her daughter and her 82-year-old mother, who requires special care at home. We deeply appreciate any help you can offer to cover these overwhelming medical costs.

Nuestra querida amiga y colega, María Luisa Dávalos, está pasando por un momento de salud muy delicado y necesita de nuestro apoyo.

Todo comenzó cuando María Luisa fue hospitalizada por una inflamación en la pleura, un doloroso problema pulmonar. Durante su estancia, contrajo una infección hospitalaria agresiva que le dañó una parte del pulmón, obligándola a someterse a dos cirugías para tratar de combatir la infección. A pesar de estos esfuerzos, sigue enfrentándose a la infección, por lo que los médicos han indicado que deberá permanecer en el hospital al menos tres semanas más para su recuperación.

Desafortunadamente, el seguro de María Luisa ha alcanzado su límite de cobertura, y ahora los gastos médicos deben ser cubiertos por ella misma, lo cual ha creado una deuda creciente que se ha vuelto insostenible.

Además, los médicos descubrieron que la causa subyacente de esta inflamación pulmonar es el cáncer, y ahora María Luisa también enfrenta el desafío de recibir quimioterapia y tratamiento oncológico, lo cual tampoco está cubierto por su seguro actual.

María Luisa es el sostén principal de su familia, que incluye a su hija y a su madre de 82 años, quien necesita cuidados especiales en casa. Apreciamos de corazón cualquier ayuda que puedas brindar para cubrir estos costos médicos tan abrumadores.
