On Wednesday, November 17th, Maisha received a phone call no mother should ever receive. A call that delivered the news that her eldest child, her son Jarvis, had passed away suddenly and without warning. She immediately went into nurturing grandmother mode to his 2 children - Saniyah, 13 years old, and BJ, 10 years old.

Maisha is the quintessential mom and always puts others before her own needs. This situation is no different, she is focused on comforting her grandchildren and her family, rather than herself. Those who know her well are not surprised by her selfless giving and love for her family.
