Hi everyone ,

Our names are Tim and Ella and we are the parents of a beautiful 8-year-old girl, Maia, who has been courageously battling leukaemia for the last 2 and a half years, After fighting so hard, she was in remission for the past eight months, which we have spent at home, giving our whole whānau so much hope and joy.

Sadly, Maia has relapsed and now needs to return to hospital for further treatment. Her doctors have advised that she will require a stem cell/bone marrow transplant, which is the next and most important step in her journey. This is a big procedure and, as a family, we understand it is the best and final measure to give our baby the chance she so purely deserves.

This means long hospital stays, time away from home, school, and friends, and many months focused purely on her recovery.

Our whānau’s priority is being by Maia’s side, supporting her through treatments, and keeping her spirits strong on the hard days. The reality is that ongoing hospital care brings extra costs — travel, accommodation, meals, and time away from work — which quickly add up.

We are starting this Gofundme page to ease some of that financial pressure so we can focus fully on Maia’s healing and wellbeing.
