Supporting Madelyn & family after brain tumor diagnosis

Donation protected
On May 4, 2025, after over a month of battling what was initially diagnosed as migraines, my niece Madelyn was diagnosed with a midbrain tumor. The tumor (glioma) was blocking the draining of fluid from her brain, which cause fluid build up, swelling and the physical symptoms she was experiencing.

She went in for surgery the next day, where they were successful in rerouting the fluid and releasing the pressure on her brain. They also were able to get a small tissue sample to send for biopsy. That, however, is just the beginning of Madelyn's story.

Madelyn was able to go home the day after surgery, but the tumor is still there. The tissue sample ended up not being enough to get any real answers. The tumor is located in a very critical part of her brain, and as of yet, they've been unable to find a surgeon who is willing to go back in to get a biopsy. The risks outweigh the benefits right now. This means that Madelyn has to go to multiple doctor appointments (in three different states) weekly to monitor the tumor and any possible symptoms/growth.

The tumor is causing her harm. They're unable to tell what stage it is and without a biopsy there is no course of action other than monitoring for growth. Madelyn's doctors and her Mom are reaching out to hospitals and neurosurgeons across the country, trying to find someone who can help.

Right now Madelyn is doing great physically. She was able to return to school and is enjoying end-of-year activities with her friends. As I'm sure you can imagine, her entire family is walking on eggshells waiting and wondering if the tumor is going to grow or if her symptoms are going to return.

Madelyn's Mom Jessica's job has been very gracious in allowing her to be off whenever needed but that comes with a loss of income. Medical bills are already coming in and this is just the tip of the iceberg.

We're asking for your prayers most of all. Other than that, if you are able/felt led, please consider donating to help with the rising and ongoing costs associated with this season of Madelyn's life. We are confident that it's just that, a season. This won't be her whole story.
