Lucy Campbell is a dedicated Irish boxer, boxing coach, and Fight City manager at Fight City Elephant & Castle. Boxing has never been just a sport for Lucy — it has been her purpose, her discipline, and her way of life.
Anyone who follows Lucy knows how committed she is. Through her boxing journey, she has shared countless hours of training, coaching, mentoring, and motivating others, always showing up with positivity, grit, and determination. Whether in the ring, on the pads, or supporting others behind the scenes, Lucy has consistently given her all to the sport and to the people around her.
Lucy has lived her entire life with Type 1 diabetes, managing a condition that requires constant attention and resilience. Despite this daily battle, she has continued to train, compete, coach, and inspire — proving time and time again that her condition would not define or limit her. Her strength and discipline have been an inspiration to many, especially those facing similar challenges.
Tragically, on Thursday 1st January, while many people were celebrating the New Year, Lucy suffered multiple seizures. She was taken to hospital and is currently in the Intensive Care Unit, where she has been placed in a coma. Lucy has also suffered a brain injury and remains in a critical condition.
This has been a devastating shock to her family, friends, teammates, and the wider boxing community.
Lucy is someone who is always on the go — coaching, managing, training, and supporting others. Due to her condition, she will be unable to work for the foreseeable future, potentially for several months. Her recovery will be long and demanding, both physically and mentally, and the financial strain during this time will be significant.
This GoFundMe has been set up to help support Lucy during her recovery, covering:
Living expenses while she is unable to work
Financial pressures during long-term recovery and rehabilitation
Allowing Lucy to focus fully on healing, without added stress
Lucy achieved so much in 2025, continuing to build her coaching career and playing a key role within the Fight City community. For 2026 to begin in this way is incredibly heartbreaking. However, if there is one thing Lucy has always shown, it is the heart of a fighter — inside and outside the ring.
Any donation, no matter how small, would be deeply appreciated. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page, as every share helps reach someone who may be able to support.
Thank you for taking the time to read Lucy’s story and for any kindness, support, or prayers you can offer during this incredibly difficult time
