Supporting Lt. Richard Sheppard and His Family

On December 31, 2025, Lt. Richard Sheppard of the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office suffered an unimaginable loss with the unexpected passing of his beloved wife, Chanelle Sheppard.

Chanelle was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and the heart of her family. Her sudden passing has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved her.

Richard and Chanelle shared a beautiful life together and were proud parents to two children, ages 9 and 13, whose world has been forever changed. As Richard continues to serve and protect our community, he is now faced with the overwhelming challenge of guiding his children through grief while navigating the emotional and financial burdens that come with such a loss.
