This fund is being organized as a circle of care to support Lokie and Tosha and their family during an unimaginable moment.
On February 4, 2026, their beloved son Leelan, lovingly known as Little Bird, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 7. He was born on July 18, 2018, and is deeply loved and survived by his mother, father, stepmother, two older brothers, and a little sister.
Leelan was a sweet, joyful light who loved to laugh and play. He had endless energy, a free spirit, and was full of jokes and giggles — and he was always hungry. He often told Tosha that the meals she made were the best he’d ever had, a memory that continues to bring smiles even in the midst of heartbreak.
At the same time, Tosha, his stepmother, is pregnant and due to welcome a new baby in just a couple of weeks. As they shared so honestly, they are straddling death and new birth simultaneously — and within that, there is so much that needs tending to. Both are happening, and both require support.
This fund is intended to help relieve financial pressure so Lokie and Tosha can focus on what matters most: being together, grieving Leelan, and welcoming new life. It is meant to allow them the time away from work needed to grieve and to prepare for the arrival of their baby without added financial strain. Contributions will help cover funeral expenses for Leelan, medical costs related to the new baby, and the practical realities of this moment — including lodging in Colorado, where Leelan passed, while continuing to pay rent back home in Utah.
The goal of this fund is $44,000, offered in the spirit of care, steadiness, and shared support. Any contribution, large or small, helps create space for this family to meet each moment as it comes.
If you are unable to give financially, prayers, love, and any other forms of support are deeply welcome and appreciated at this time.
This page is organized by close friends of Lokie and Tosha, with their consent, who wanted to help lift some of the weight they are carrying.
Thank you for holding Lokie, Tosha, and their family with compassion.
