Supporting Lizbeth, Franklin, and Their Family
I’m helping raise funds for Lizbeth and her family during an incredibly difficult moment.
Lizbeth lives in Minneapolis with her husband Franklin and their four-year-old daughter, who is on the autism spectrum. Franklin was recently detained by ICE during a required immigration check-in and was transferred to a detention facility in Texas, far from his family.
Franklin is the sole provider for the household. Lizbeth stays home to care for their daughter full-time, managing her daily needs and therapy appointments. Since his detention, the family has been suddenly left without income, while also facing urgent legal costs.
We were able to secure an immigration lawyer and file a petition for Franklin’s release. We are hopeful that he will be released soon. However, his asylum case is still ongoing, and he has an upcoming hearing in the coming weeks. The legal process is expensive, and the costs add up quickly.
Funds raised here will go toward:
- Immigration attorney fees
- Legal preparation and representation for Franklin’s hearing
- Travel and related expenses connected to his detention and release
- Basic living expenses for Lizbeth and their daughter while Franklin is unable to work
This is a young family doing everything they can to stay together and move forward through the legal process. Any amount helps relieve some of the pressure they are under right now.
If you’re not able to donate, sharing this fundraiser also makes a big difference.
Thank you for supporting this family and helping them get through this moment.
