Walking for Stephanie – Supporting Liverpool Hospital Neurology Teams
On July 5, 2025, my beautiful sister Stephanie tragically and unexpectedly passed away at just 25 years old. She was vibrant, cheeky, full of love, and brought light into every room she entered. Her sudden passing has left a hole in our hearts that will never be filled.
Stephanie was admitted to Liverpool Hospital for what we believed would be an MRI and lumbar puncture. However, doctors soon discovered a serious cognard dural arteriovenous fistula (dAVF) that was affecting approximately 75% of her brain. What followed were multiple urgent surgeries and a difficult battle in the Intensive Care Unit.
Throughout her time in hospital, the care Stephanie received from the Neurology Department, the Neuro Intervention Team, and the incredible ICU staff was nothing short of extraordinary. The compassion, skill, and relentless dedication shown by every person who treated her gave us comfort during the most devastating time of our lives. We will never forget their kindness and commitment.
To honor Stephanie’s memory and to give back to the teams who cared for her so deeply, we’ll be walking 10,000 steps every day throughout September. While walking was never Stephanie’s favorite thing to do, I know she’d be telling me how proud she is — probably with that cheeky grin of hers.
All funds raised will go directly to the Neurology and Neuro Intervention teams at Liverpool Hospital, helping them continue their incredible work and support other families facing similar heartbreaking situations.
If you're able to donate, share, or simply show your support, it would mean the world to our family. Thank you for helping us celebrate Stephanie’s life by supporting the people who cared for her with such love and dedication.
With love,
Natalie and Danielle
