Supporting Lisa Through Heart Surgery and Recovery

For those who know Lisa McKenzie, you know that she is a hardworking woman with a big heart. As a devoted daughter, sister, partner, and friend, Lisa has touched many lives with her nurturing spirit. In difficult times, she uses laughter as a remedy, finding joy through pain.

She’s always willing to help others and if there’s nothing more she can do, you can count on her to offer unwavering support.

Last spring, what started as a routine doctor's appointment led to devastating news: Lisa was in kidney failure and needed to begin immediate dialysis treatment. Despite the challenges of treatment, she continued to work while managing her dialysis schedule. Dialysis treatments have limited Lisa’s activities and often leave her drained, requiring significant time to recuperate.

A few months ago, after a year of dialysis treatments, Lisa received news that she was added to the kidney transplant list! During a more recent appointment, in preparation for her kidney transplant, Lisa, unfortunately, received more difficult news. She also needs triple bypass heart surgery. As you can probably guess, this procedure is especially challenging for dialysis patients and requires an extended recovery period. Her surgery is scheduled for August 5th.

Lisa's recovery will require her to step away from work and her current dialysis routine, creating financial hardship during this critical time. This is where she needs your support.
