Hi everyone

Many of you know and love Lisa — an incredible super mum to Ethan, Taj and Kaden, a loyal friend, and someone who always shows up for others with kindness and strength. Right now, Lisa is facing one of the toughest battles of her life after being diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a type of blood cancer.

Over the past nine weeks, Lisa has already spent significant time in hospital undergoing her first rounds of treatment. It has been an incredibly challenging start to what will be a long journey, but Lisa continues to face it with courage and determination.

Lisa has recently met with her specialist professor in Brisbane and is now preparing for the next stage of treatment. Just after Easter she will undergo high-dose chemotherapy followed by stem cell retrieval, a four-hour process where her blood is filtered to collect healthy stem cells. This will require hospital stays at Pindara Hospital and around five days at the Mater Hospital in Brisbane

In the months following, Lisa will undergo a stem cell transplant, which will be a critical part of her treatment journey. While the exact dates are still to come, the months ahead will involve significant treatment, recovery time, and time away from normal life.

Multiple Myeloma is a type of blood cancer that develops from abnormal plasma cells in the bone marrow. It can cause bone damage, anaemia, kidney problems and increased risk of infections. While it is considered incurable, treatments have advanced significantly, and with the right care it can often be managed for many years. Lisa is in the hands of an incredible specialist team and is feeling hopeful about the path ahead.

During this time, we are hoping to help ease some of the financial pressure on Lisa and her boys so she can focus on what matters most — her treatment and recovery.

• Everyday living expenses during treatment and recovery

• Supporting Ethan, Taj and Kaden while Lisa focuses on getting well
