In early October 2026, Alexis (Lexi) MacGregor suffered a devastating fall that resulted in a serious traumatic brain injury. She was rushed by air ambulance to BC Children's Hospital, where she was admitted to intensive care. Her injuries were life threatening, and the doctors were initially uncertain about her chances of recovery or the long term effects of her injuries.

On October 13, Lexi underwent an MRI that revealed the seriousness of her brain injury. Doctors cautioned that her speech, understanding and other abilities could be permanently affected. Her family was told that recovery would be a long and uncertain journey.

But Lexi has been showing everyone just how determined she is! By October 15, her breathing tube had been removed, and on October 16, she was transferred out of intensive care. Over the following weeks, she began speaking, eating, sitting up and taking her first steps. By early November, she was walking, climbing stairs with supervision and making remarkable progress in rehabilitation.

Lexi still faces another important surgery to replace a portion of her skull, followed by continued rehabilitation at Sunny Hill. There is a long road ahead, but every day brings new reasons for hope.

For those who don't know Lexi, she is a wonderfully creative, strong and energetic young girl with an incredible spirit. She is deeply loved by her parents, her brother ,Colton, and a beautiful extended family who are surrounding her with love and encouragement.

Since the accident, Dayton has remained faithfully at his daughter's side, day and night. As a REALTOR®, Dayton is unable to work while dedicating his time to caring for his daughter.
