The Backstory
What Les has dubbed as his “Magical Medical Mystery Tour” began near the end of August with a doctor’s visit for a persistent cough. In a whirlwind of a few months the “probable allergies” from the first doctor’s visit turned into Stage IIIB lung cancer. The cause of the cancer (Les has never even looked at a cigarette) and how it will react to treatment still remains a mystery.

Where We Are Now
The treatment plan determined by Les’ great team of medical professionals consists of chemotherapy once a week for six weeks and radiation every weekday for six weeks to, hopefully, decrease the size of the tumors and lead to the reduction of cancer within Les's body. Les has just had the first chemotherapy and radiation sessions and we are all hoping for swift and positive results.

What You Can Do
Leave a positive note! So far, our family has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support. Hearing from all of you has been the silver lining throughout this journey. Keep the love coming as Les continues his fight against lung cancer.
Chip in! The diagnosis of cancer inflicts not only an emotional toll, but a financial toll as well, due to continued doctor consults, visits, medication, and treatments. Additionally, if Les needs to take medical leave to focus on healing, funds will also be needed to cover lost wages. Crystal, Les's wife, will be managing the transfer of funds due to Les's need to solely focus on healing. Taking away the financial burden lung cancer treatment imposes will allow us to focus on what really matters. Every little bit helps and no donation is too small to be appreciated. Share and pass the word along to allow for us to hear from our more distant connections.
