Supporting Lauren's fight against Lymphoma

Hi, my name is Amy and I am fundraising on behalf of my best friend Lauren. Lauren is a single mum to 12 year old Lincoln. In August 2021 Lauren's world was turned upside down, after 3 years in remission she was given the diagnosis that her Non- Hodgkin Lymphoma had returned, this time with the added diagnosis of a Melanoma skin cancer.

Since she was given the tragic news, she has been set on a never ending journey of scans, biopsies, surgery and commenced a massive round of Radiation Therapy.

Lauren had been through this before, she knew the physical and mental toll would be enormous. But it is the financial toll this round that has been the greatest cost.

With ongoing medical bills, including scans, biopsies, specialist appointments and medication (only some of which are covered by Medicare) getting sick with cancer is financially devastating and at times can be a bigger burden than the cancer itself.

Unfortunately, work insurance would not cover Lauren's leave from work a second time, so she has been forced to continue work full time through her diagnosis and treatment in order to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads.

If you have the pleasure of knowing her, you will know that Lauren is such a generous and loving Daughter, Sister, Mother, Auntie, Work Colleague and Friend. She is ALWAYS putting others before herself and would be the last person to ask for help. Your donations will help to provide ongoing care and to cover a portion of the exorbitant medical costs she is forced to pay.

We are also going to donate a percentage to the PA Cancer Research Foundation to help fight this cruel disease.
