I am reaching out in hopes of reaching far and wide in support for my family through hardship.

My nephew Kyro is at the Stollery Children's Hospital after undergoing major brain surgery to remove a tumour. While the surgery was necessary, it came with complications. Kyro has been diagnosed with posterior fossa syndrome, a condition that can affect speech, movement, and overall recovery.

At this time, Kyro is still not awake, and his family is holding onto hope, taking things one moment at a time.

Recently, he was also diagnosed with autism and ADHD, making his journey uniquely his own, and showing just how strong and special he already is

His mom, Shayla, has not left his side and will continue to stay with him throughout his recovery. Doctors have told her to prepare for a long road ahead — potentially up to six months in the hospital — as Kyro begins the slow process of healing and rehabilitation.

As you can imagine, this has created an overwhelming emotional and financial strain. Shayla is unable to work while she remains by Kyro’s side, but the bills and daily expenses don’t stop.

We are asking for support to help ease that burden so Shayla can focus entirely on what matters most — being there for Kyro every step of the way.
