My name is Jo, and I’m setting up this GoFundMe to support an incredible mum, Kristy, who is currently facing breast cancer for the third time.

Kristy is a devoted single mum to her beautiful son James. James and my son Will have been mates since kindy, and over the years I’ve seen firsthand the love, strength, and quiet determination Kristy brings to everything she does, especially motherhood.

Kristy has already fought and beaten breast cancer twice. During those first two battles, she managed to get through with a combination of leave, savings, and sheer grit. Sadly, those financial buffers are now depleted, and as she is undergo chemotherapy again, the financial pressure is adding an extra burden no one should have to carry while fighting for their health.

This fundraiser is about giving Kristy some breathing space, helping with everyday costs, medical bills, groceries, mortgage and the general expenses that don’t stop just because life throws something this big at you. It’s about allowing her to focus her energy where it’s needed most, getting through chemo and being there for James.

Cancer takes an enormous physical and emotional toll, but the financial strain can be just as overwhelming, particularly for a single parent. Any contribution, big or small, will make a real difference and help lift some of that weight from Kristie’s shoulders.
