Supporting Kirsty Mac through cancer
Donation protected
Hello, My name is Chanelle and I am Kirsty’s sons partner and I am fundraising to help support Kirsty, her son and daughter through her recent breast cancer diagnosis in early November 2023 and also to raise awareness of the type Oestrogen Receptor Positive cancer, and probable link to HRT.
Kirsty and her children have been through many difficult times throughout their lives and have managed to overcome those challenges with strength and determination, and because of those she trained and completed her degree in 2016, in PC counselling in order to help others.
Since then she has worked as a self employed therapist, and due to her recent diagnosis will have to take a step back in order to focus on her treatment and recovery.
Unfortunately because she is self employed, she is unable to have sick pay, as you would if you were employed and can only apply for uc, which will not be enough to cover living expenses and anything she may need during her treatment in the months ahead. This is why I am appealing to you to help in supporting them in any way that you can.
Kirsty is a single parent supporting her daughter who is in college studying the same course that she trained in, and Libby wants to follow in her mums footsteps.
George has been Kirsty’s main support throughout, with hospital appointments and a listening ear as well as Libby , along with hugs and Kirsty is super proud of them both and has been supporting them through the impact this has had on them also.
Kirsty has spoken before about being an advocate for HRT due to the distressing symptoms she had suffered with during perimenopause, and actually she still is an advocate because it helped with her symptoms and has helped many women when they have been struggling also. There is always a small percentage of risk when taking HRT that it has been linked to breast cancer and Kirsty has said, I guess it’s how my body has responded to it and the oestrogen part of the HRT was feeding the cancer. She wanted to let people know of the risk, not to scare anyone , but to have the awareness.
Kirsty has a positive mindset towards the battle ahead, although there has been some terrifying moments and as you may imagine some daunting times and uncertainties that lay ahead for all of us. She is full of gratitude to her family and friends and the hospital staff who have been amazing so far.
Myself, George and Libby would like to thank you for your support and positive words, and if you could help in anyway you can, to relieve any financial pressure so they can put their energy and focus into Kirsty’s treatment and battle ahead, it would be greatly appreciated. Together we can all play a part in kicking the Big C’s butt!!!
Many thanks with love
