If anyone has met Keith, they know no one can be a stranger to him for long. Once he starts talking, it's hard to get him to stop. Endless amounts of stories of his youth raising Hell and rarely getting caught. He has always been a resilient guy. Going through a windshield and making it out alive, surviving liver failure (yes, his own doing), and staying sober for 16+ years. All the stuff he's gone through, and he is still a guy you can count on. Whether it be watching your pets while on vacation, helping you when your car dies, or being the gopher at the store, Keith is your errand guy.
Now, 5 years after his lung cancer diagnosis, which he has fought relentlessly, cancer has returned, and no treatments are safe for him any longer. The cancer is now in his bones, lymph nodes, and organs. Even hearing this, he comforted me, Amanda. Hearing the limited amount of time he (potentially) has left, he has a list of projects he wants to do to help those he loves: painting his room, installing fans, fixing the fence, sodding the yard, building a shed, and opening the pool one last time.
Keith, aka Paga, still has his boys, Cullen, Cole, and Holden, at the top of his priority list. Still picking them up from school, attending their school and sporting events, and getting their favorite snacks. We know he fought through cancer so hard for them as well as his girls Oksana, Alana, and Amanda. Lord knows we can't forget his doggos. We will all be lost when our world chooses to crash down.
The last thing any of us want is for Paga to be worried about leaving his family with unfinished projects or bills. Any money raised goes to Keith for his many trips to Menards (his favorite store), to have others help with the projects (that he can no longer do), and his "candy store" trips to help ease the pain. We are hoping there is some extra time we will have to memory dump some adventures before we lose him.
Being the stubborn man he is, he doesn't want much after he is gone. No big to-do, no gravestone, "don't waste money on me," he will be sent off in a way fitting for him, turning him into rocks.
