My name is Annee Martin and I am fundraising for Katie LeBarre who is the founder/owner of Doggy Day Care an enrichment center located in Seaside, California. Our dog Gracee has been going 5 days a week for 6 years since Gracee was a puppy and so it was a shock to learn that the center will be closing its door for good on June 9th Katie recently learned that she has Ovarian Cancer, the same cancer that took her beautiful mother’s life a year ago.

Katie will be starting treatment with a wholistic oncologist shortly after closing and her insurance does not cover this type of treatment. Katie has also lost her business and livelihood due to her landlord not allowing her to have her staff run the center while she undergoes treatment or for her to sell it. The landlord wants to turn the center into offices.

Katie’s story is heartbreaking on many levels but through the kindness

and generosity of all of us we can change this ending from sad and tragic

to one of hope and survival. Love is the greatest healing force and your act of

generosity and encouraging words can be what turns this sad news around.

There is no center like Doggy Day Care in the area that can provide this kind of positive environment that the furry friends feel comfortable and safe when they come and want to keep coming back. The owner's also know that their dog is getting the love, attention, and enrichment Katie so strongly believes they deserve.
