Supporting Justine's Journey Through Cancer and IVF
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out to share the story of someone very close to my heart—my sister-in-law, Justine.
Recently, Justine was faced with a life-altering diagnosis of cancer, and in an instant, her entire world was turned upside down. What followed has been a year filled with uncertainty, pain, and unimaginable strength.
Her treatment plan spans the entire year and comes with a long list of possible harsh side effects—one of the most devastating being the potential loss of fertility. For Justine, the dream of becoming a mother has always been something she held onto with so much love and hope. When doctors told her this might no longer be possible, it hit just as hard as the cancer diagnosis itself.
Determined to preserve that dream, Justine went through the intense and uncomfortable process of IVF. Sadly, it didn’t lead to the outcome we all hoped for, and she was faced with having to go through it all over again. The physical and emotional toll is immense—and to make matters harder, this second round wasn’t covered by OHIP. She and her partner had no choice but to take out a loan to cover the costs.
Justine hasn’t been able to work and had to move back home to focus on treatment and healing. Her partner left his career and life in Australia to be by her side—he’s only just been approved to work after six months of waiting on a visa and is now trying to find employment.
This time has been emotionally exhausting and financially overwhelming. Through all of it, Justine has shown so much courage—but no one should have to carry this weight alone.
If you're in a position to help—even a little—it would mean the world to all of us. Whether it’s a donation, a share, or simply keeping Justine in your thoughts, your support brings a little more light into a very difficult journey.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
And respectfully… f*ck cancer.
