Supporting June Sanregret through breast cancer
Donation protected
On New Year’s Eve 2020, June was diagnosed with breast cancer. When she first felt the lump earlier in the year she thought it would be a cyst or swollen lymph node — as she has no family history of breast cancer, was 28 years old, and lives a healthy lifestyle. But in December June became very alarmed as the lump grew exponentially and became very painful. After 2 inconclusive doctor’s visits in Brooklyn, she booked a next-day flight to Santa Barbara to get immediate attention from a family-recommended specialist.
The day after arriving in California June had a biopsy, and shortly after her Stage 3b diagnosis was confirmed — she needed to start cancer treatment immediately.

June is an artist who has been living and working in Brooklyn, NY for the past several years. Her creative spirit and imaginative approach to her work and life mirrors her personality so well. She has the sharpest sense of humor and wit paired with beautiful softness and creativity, a combination that is so uniquely June and the reason so many people love her dearly.
June and her partner Zander are now living in Santa Barbara to be close to her family while she undergoes treatment. Unexpectedly moving across the country from NY to CA in the middle of a pandemic and a cancer diagnosis has been emotionally and financially challenging.
Like many during this time, June and Zander lost their jobs, and are navigating a new normal.
JUNE'S TREATMENT
Over the next year, June will stay in Santa Barbara where she will focus on healing and treatment. She will have 6 rounds of chemotherapy over the course of 18 weeks which she started on Jan 18th, followed by a mastectomy, radiation 5 days a week for 6 weeks, reconstructive surgery, continued lesser IV treatments every 3 weeks to complete the year followed by two years of oral therapy.
Because June is immune-compromised, COVID-19 has made it difficult for friends and family to be able to assist June in so many of the areas in which she needs support.
HOW YOUR DONATION HELPS
Your contributions will help cover June’s medical expenses, some living costs, as well as any unexpected out-of-pocket costs for treatment, prescriptions, post-treatment therapies that insurance is not able to cover, such as genetic counseling, fertility treatment, naturopathic oncology, cryotherapy, acupuncture and/or physical therapy.
While June applied for financial assistance through Ridley Tree Cancer Center and was approved for their Patient Assistance Program, it covers part of the treatment costs, but only lasts for three months.
Here are some of June’s expenses your donation would contribute to:
- Biopsies & Test bills pre-diagnosis & pre-insurance
- Junes Treatment (Chemotherapy, Radiation and Surgeries)
- Additional Estimated Out-of-pocket medical expenses: (Fertility treatment,
- Naturopathic Oncologist, Physical Therapy, Acupuncture, Supplements, Post-Treatment therapies)
- Specific food services & living expenses during treatment
- Rent & Moving expenses from Brooklyn to CA
June and her family have been greatly inspired by all the love and encouragement, allowing them to stay positive and strong during this time. We now hope that those who are able to will help support them so they can focus on what is most important; treatment, healing, and long-term remission.

OTHER WAYS YOU CAN SUPPORT JUNE
Everyone who loves June shares the same goals, which are:
- June is able to access the very best care and therapies currently available
- June emerges from this without debt incurred from medical expenses
If you’re unable to donate, June loves hearing stories about / being connected to other young cancer survivors, healthy recipe recommendations, book & movie suggestions, and receiving letters in the mail.
Thank you in advance for coming together to energize, inspire, and support!
