Supporting Jordan through Hodgkin's Lymphoma
Donation protected
On May 23rd of 2022, I was diagnosed with stage 2B classic Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Thankfully, this is a treatable cancer that is not at an advanced stage, but the journey ahead of me is both a difficult one and one I did not expect to have in my lifetime. The treatment for my cancer, which includes chemotherapy, has rendered me temporarily unable to work at my physically demanding job as a massage therapist. While I am on medical leave, my partner and I are down to a single income while the bills keep rolling in. I’m hoping for just enough help to get me through the next few months as I battle my cancer before, hopefully, returning to work.
I’m fortunate enough to get emergency assistance with medical coverage. At the moment, my medical bills are being taken care of. I am waiting on the food assistance program to come through as well. Your generous donations will go towards transportation to treatments, gas, rent, utilities, and food until the assistance comes through. I am looking for help covering about $1300 in monthly expenses until I’m done with treatments which should be done by December. After which, I plan on returning to work.
I’m not looking to profit from my cancer, so transparency is important to me.
The breakdown per month looks like this-
Rent- $800
Phone- $80
Car insurance- $100
Food- $200-300
Gas- $100
Streaming services (to keep me sane while I recover at home) - $45
The donations over my goal will go to future medical expenses such as PET scans every six months after treatment is finished until I can apply for medical insurance through the company I work for in April.
I plan to donate back any remaining funds to the volunteers who graciously made the cancer wellness gift baskets I was fortunate to receive upon my diagnosis.
Thank you so much for your willingness to donate to my care and recovery. I’m going to win this battle! Cancer picked the wrong girl!
