Supporting Joey's family with unplanned funeral costs

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

We write to you with heavy hearts and a profound sense of urgency. Our dear friend, Sandra, is facing an unimaginable tragedy. Just a few days ago, her beloved son, Joey, was taken from us in a sudden and heartbreaking manner. The shock of his passing has left Sandra and her family reeling, grappling with emotions that are simply indescribable.

As Corrina and Kathy, close friends of Sandra, we've witnessed firsthand the immense love and devotion she has always poured into her children and grandchildren. Joey was not just her child; he was a huge part of her world, her reason for waking up each day with a smile. Their bond was one of pure love, joy, and endless laughter. Losing him has shattered Sandra's world in ways we cannot fathom.

In addition to being Joey's mother, Sandra also cherished the time she spent with Joey's children. She enjoyed nothing more than watching them grow and thrive, and they brought immense joy and light into her life on a regular basis.

We must also acknowledge the profound loss Sandra and the family has endured previously. Just a few years ago, Joey and his partner Rachel's middle son passed away after a brave battle with cancer. The pain of losing her grandchild and witnessing her son's grief was a burden Sandra carried with her every day. Despite this tragedy, she remained strong for Joey and his family, offering unwavering love and support.

Now, with Joey's sudden passing, Sandra finds herself grappling with yet another devastating loss. The weight of grief is almost unbearable, compounded by the memories of her grandchild, Zachary. In the midst of her sorrow, Sandra now faces the daunting task of arranging Joey's funeral and handling the associated expenses. Sandra has always put other's and her family before herself and now she needs our support.

As you can imagine, the financial burden of such an unexpected event is overwhelming. While Sandra navigates the complex maze of funeral arrangements and tries to find solace in memories of Joey, we are reaching out to you, our community, for support.

We humbly ask for your help in easing the financial strain on Sandra during this incredibly difficult time. Your contributions will go directly towards covering Joey's funeral expenses, as well as providing Sandra with the support she needs to begin healing from this tragic loss. Everyone is welcome to Joey's celebration of life being held at the Bowness Scout Hall, 8851 Bowness Rd NW at 5pm on April 25th, 2024.
