Supporting Joey Pica through his cancer journey
Donation protected
My brother, Joey Pica is one of the most inspirational presences in my life. For as long as I can remember, I admired and appreciated how he navigated and rose above the challenges that were placed before him with such heart and soul. His choices inspired me to persevere, endure my challenges with faith, keep calm, find peace and discover the resolve through my own heart space.
Recently Joey has been up against a challenge that most of us never want to even think about. In 2012, Joey had a grapefruit size cancerous tumor (G.I.S.T.) removed from his small intestine and he has been working diligently to keep this cancer at bay. He was doing great up until about a year ago when diagnostic imaging revealed that the cancer has spread. Because of the covid virus, Joey was advised from his medical team not to work during this past year. Although he and his wife Karen do have medical insurance, it has not covered a very large portion of chemotherapy treatments, testing, medical procedures and hospitalizations. Their financial debt has been accumulating at warp speed and it is becoming overwhelming for Joey and Karen to get a hold on it.
We understand that this past year has been extraordinarily challenging for everyone on so many different levels. Because Joey is still not able to go back to work, we would love nothing more than for Joey and Karen to receive as much support as possible as they try to navigate this through this intense emotional and financial challenge together. On behalf of Joey and Karen, we are incredibly blessed and appreciative for any donation you can make. If supporting them financially is too difficult at this time, we are also very grateful for all your thoughts and prayers.
