As Joe's family we are setting up this Go Fund Me page to tell Joes story and with the hope of being able to financially support Joe and his partner Darren through Joe's toughest fight of his life.
Joe was diagnosed with Bowl Cancer 16th September 2020, devastatingly he also lost his sister Pam who was the apple of his eye and on top of that was made redundant from his job of 13 years, all within 6 weeks of each other.
Joe started his gruelling treatment of chemotherapy and radiotherapy on the 6th November 2020, 5 days for 5 weeks.
Since diagnoses the Cancer of the bowl and lymphnodes has then spread causing secondary cancer in the liver.
Joe also has been diagnosed with COPD as well as being severely asthmatic.
During the course of Joes treatment he has been admitted to hospital with pneumonia where he was very poorly and now has scarring on his lungs because of this.
Joe lives in Blackpool with his amazing partner Darren and all of his family live in Newcastle, it is now critical to try and get the ball moving for Joe and Darren to possibly make the move back to Newcastle for the best support and treatment there is.
Financially Joe and Darren are struggling to live daily without the added cost of travelling to and from Preston Hospital. This is a huge impact on Joe and Darren's lives right now and financially crippling.
We have made this page to ask from the bottom of our hearts if any one can help donate to make life a little easier at this devastating time.
No one thinks they will be in this kind of situation resulting in having to ask for charity but we are a working class family who are rich in other aspects of life such as the love and care we have for one another. This is why we believe the possibility of Joe and Darren having the option to return to Newcastle could be key. Funds raised by all of you wonderful people would help go towards things like costs of daily living in Blackpool, travel to and from hospital and alternative treatment that will work along side Joes other treatments, removal vans, a possible bond payment that could be required on a property if the move to Newcastle went ahead.
Joe lights up any room he walks in to, he's the heart and soul of the full family he is hilariously funny and the most caring person you could meet.
Joe is a brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and dear friend to so many in both Newcastle and Blackpool. Joe is extremely well liked and known by all especially in the Gay society. Every one loves wor Geordie Joe.
We can not put in to words how much Joe is loved and adored by all, literally, but those of you who do know him will know exactly what we are trying to say, there are no words.
