Supporting Joe: Conquering Guillain-Barré Disease

We are rallying together to support our beloved gym member, Joe Delgado, who was recently diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS). This rare neurological disorder has posed immense challenges for Joe, affecting his peripheral nervous system and causing weakness and paralysis.

For the past three years, Joe has been an integral part of our CrossFit Brownsville community, inspiring us with his unwavering strength and determination. Despite the obstacles he faces, Joe's resilience shines through, both physically and mentally.

Currently, Joe is undergoing treatment at a residential rehab facility, where he is fighting tirelessly to regain his strength and independence. We want to ensure that Joe and his wife, Yoli, can focus solely on his recovery without the burden of overwhelming medical expenses.

With that in mind, we have set up this GoFundMe campaign to support the Delgado family. All funds raised will directly cover medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and any other unforeseen financial burdens they may encounter on this challenging journey. CrossFit Brownsville will also host a Community Beach WOD on July 8th, 2023 at 9AM. Everyone is welcome; the cost will be $5 per person, with all proceeds going to the Delgado family.
