I wanted to share the story behind this project. Not long ago, I lost my job and found myself back on the job market. As I dusted off my resume and started applying, I was struck by how outdated, frustrating, and time-consuming the process still is.

After hours spent fine-tuning a resume, the next step is to hit the job boards to search for the right title, skim through job descriptions, then apply for the job, and hope for the best. As I spam-apply, I got very few hits but more email spam to my inbox from recruiters, and very little traction.

After doing it for a while, I went looking around to find tools that would help me streamline the process. While I found a few, they were overloaded with bells and whistles that further added to the process, including more spam emails from the tools. Double ugh!

That’s what inspired me to build JDMatch. Designed to keep it simple and to the point, to give job seekers like us quick insights on how well a resume matches a specific job description. With instant match scores, readiness feedback, and detailed breakdowns.
