Supporting Jim’s Fight and Recovery
Following the news shared on Facebook, some of you have asked how you can best support Jim and his family as they navigate a very difficult road ahead.
As many of you know, Jim’s life and career have been defined by his vision — capturing the world through his lens. After experiencing some fogginess and weakness while out on assignment recently, he was diagnosed with a high-grade glioma brain tumor. Because of the tumor's location near the center of his brain, surgery isn’t an option. Jim will begin an intensive regimen of radiation and chemotherapy.
How You Can Help
Right now, Jim needs to focus 100% of his energy on his health and getting through the aggressive treatment. We’ve set an initial goal of $20,000. This is designed to cover the family's out-of-pocket medical maximum for the year and provide a few months of stability for their household while Jim is unable to be out on assignment.
Your generosity will go directly toward:
- Medical expenses: Covering the costs associated with aggressive radiation and chemotherapy treatments.
- Monthly logistics: Easing the burden of daily bills and household expenses while Jim is unable to be out on assignment.
- Healing support: Providing Jim and Angie the flexibility they need to manage the logistics of a rigorous treatment schedule and focus entirely on care.
A small note on donations: GoFundMe deducts a small processing fee (about 3%) from each gift. If you’re able, please consider adding a few extra dollars to your total to ensure 100% of your intended support goes directly to Jim and his family.
One Day at a Time
Jim and his family are taking this journey one day at a time, fueled by the incredible outpouring of love and "healing vibes" they’ve already received. Whether it is through a donation, sharing this page, or keeping them in your prayers, your support is a reminder to Jim that he isn't in this fight alone.
Jim has spent years telling stories through his photography. Now, let’s help him write this next chapter of recovery. We will post updates here as the family is able to share them.
Thank you for your kindness and for standing with Jim, Angie and Katie.
