Being an early childhood educator is extraordinary work.
It requires patience, gentleness, emotional presence, and a kind of kindness that can’t be taught. It’s work done not for recognition or reward, but out of love — love for children, for families, and for the joyful, meaningful work of helping little humans grow.
Jilly embodies all of this and more.
She has cared for our children with tenderness, compassion, and unwavering commitment. She has shaped little lives, steadied anxious moments, celebrated milestones, and poured her heart into the children entrusted to her.
Now, it is our turn to support her.
Recently, after experiencing concerning health issues, Jilly was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital where she received the devastating diagnosis of Stage 4 cholangiocarcinoma. She is now under specialist care and preparing for an intensive treatment journey.
Even in the midst of this shock, Jilly continues to face each day with the same strength, faith, and gentle spirit she brings to her work. Those who have sat with her speak of her grace, her courage, and the deep hope she continues to hold.
Alongside her health battle, Jilly faces additional challenges that make her situation uniquely difficult:
- Jilly's family are all in Indonesia, leaving her without close family support in Australia during the hardest moment of her life.
- She is in Australia on a student visa , creating immediate financial vulnerability.
- She will also need to navigate complex visa requirements while seriously ill
These factors place enormous strain on her, both practically and financially.
As Jilly begins treatment, she will need significant support to cover:
- medical and treatment‑related costs
- ongoing hospital and care needs
- essential living expenses while she cannot work or study
- costs associated with navigating her visa situation
- everyday necessities she cannot manage alone
Our goal is to ease as much of this burden as possible so Jilly can focus on her health and healing.
Whether you know Jilly personally or simply understand the profound impact educators have on children and communities, we invite you to stand with her.
Your contribution — big or small — will make a meaningful difference.
If you’re unable to donate, keeping her in your thoughts or prayers is deeply appreciated.
Thank you for supporting this extraordinary woman during such a tender and challenging time. Please share far and wide.
Let’s show Jilly how cherished, valued, and surrounded by love she truly is.
With our deepest gratitude,
