On July 12, 2026, Jess Brazil's life was tragically taken in a motorcycle accident. Despite wearing a helmet, a traumatic brain injury took her from us. She was 36.

Jess leaves behind her three children, who were the loves of her life - Hailey (15), Eli (13), and Dagny (11).

Anyone who knew Jess knew her fierce dedication to people who had no one else in their corner. She spent most of her career in indigent defense - as a public defender in Arapahoe County from 2014 to 2022, and as an Alternate Defense Counsel attorney from 2022 until the end. She gave everything to her clients, her community, and above all, her kids. She also leaves behind three dogs.

Jess was quick on her feet and brilliant. She will be remembered for being fearless, athletic, beautiful, and for her boundless love of fun.

Jess's ability to juggle it all, and to care for everyone around her while doing it, was magical.
