A Health and Financial Crisis: Supporting Jessica Koshman and family Through Chronic Illness and Wrongful Suspension

Hello everyone,
My name is Jessica and I am reaching out during a time of immediate and overwhelming crisis. For the past five years, I have been battling complex health issues that have now culminated in a sudden loss of income, leaving me financially devastated and unable to cover essential medical and living costs.

The Health Battle: From Crisis to Chronic Disease
My health journey has been intense since 2020. It began with an unexpected crisis: a severe kidney infection that nearly turned septic due to previously unknown kidney stones. I went through the trauma of passing 20 kidney stones in a single week. While I thought the worst was over, major life stress and environmental factors caused a massive flare-up this past June, leading to two hospitalizations.
This crisis resulted in a diagnosis of Chronic Kidney Stone Disease and Bilateral Medullary Nephrocalcinosis at the end of June.

The physical exhaustion and stress of moving in mid-July pushed my body past its limits, bringing to light other underlying conditions that had been silently worsening:

Connective Tissue Disorders: I have been experiencing symptoms of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, which affects my connective tissues. This leads to chronic body pain and frequent, painful partial subluxations of my shoulders, knees, right hip, and ankles—even causing me to break my own foot last year due to weak supporting tendons. My ankles can give out if I stand for too long.

Neurological and Pain Flares: During a flare-up, my body goes haywire: severe muscle cramping and stiffness, constant jaw clenching, massive frontal lobe migraines, and severe brain fog that leaves me light-headed. My proprioception (body awareness) is off, making me run into things, and my vision gets blurry.

Daily Struggles: I am currently dealing with dystonia, chronic IBS, rib discomfort, and pelvic pain, which means I have zero appetite on most days. I've had to purchase a walker just to have support when my pain and stiffness become unbearable.
My care team is now extensive—I have multiple doctors, and I am undergoing tests for various metabolic disorders. My critical urology appointment is on November 12th.

The Financial Cliff: Wrongful Suspension and Immediate Need
Just as I was trying to manage this overwhelming medical journey, I was hit with a paralyzing financial setback. Beginning of October 2025 I was wrongfully suspended from my job due to a false, vague allegation from one client. My boss gave me a suspension letter with no details—no date, time, or specific mannerism—and stated I would not be scheduled until an audit and investigation were complete.
This happened immediately after I had committed to full-time status and paid major expenses: renewing my insurance (a prerequisite for my work), car payment, car insurance, and my daughter’s extracurriculars. I was left broke, in shock, and sick.
The financial unknown, combined with my health uncertainty, is causing paralyzing panic attacks.
How Your Support Will Help
I am asking for support to bridge the gap until I can return to work. My goal is to get back to massaging as soon as this flare-up is over, as that work actually helps manage my chronic disorder. But the timeline is completely uncertain.
Your donation will immediately relieve the crushing stress of:
1. Essential Medical Costs: Covering lab work, co-pays for my large medical team, and the cost of managing chronic pain and stiffness.
2. Basic Living Expenses: Paying rent, utilities, and essential groceries while I wait for the resolution of my job suspension.

Any support is deeply appreciated. Whether it is a direct donation, a gift card for gas or groceries, or even just sharing my story with your network—every gesture helps take a massive weight off my shoulders so I can focus on my recovery.
Thank you for your kindness and for helping me see a path forward.
