On July 3rd, our dear colleague Jerry Lajaunie suffered an unimaginable loss: his high school sweetheart and wife of 32 years, Debbie, passed away suddenly from a heart attack. This devastating event has left Jerry and their family in a state of profound grief and hardship. Jerry and Debbie still have two teenage daughters at home and are raising their three young grandchildren. Now, Jerry is facing not only the emotional weight of losing his beloved wife but also the financial strain of managing daily expenses and the unexpected costs of a funeral. Debbie was a cornerstone of their household, and her sudden absence has also meant a loss of half of the household income. As friends and coworkers, we want to rally around Jerry during this incredibly difficult time. Our goal is to alleviate some of the financial burden he faces so that he can focus on healing and supporting his family through this heartbreaking transition.
