Hi St Ives Community. Last week, a member of our wonderful community suffered a devastating loss.

On Tuesday the 17th of February, Jas received the phone call no one ever wants to get — her home was on fire.

She rushed home from work to find the unimaginable. While we are incredibly grateful that Jas and her two sons are safe and unharmed, the devastation is overwhelming. Sadly, nothing from the home is salvageable.

Jas is a single mum to two young boys who are now trying to come to terms with the sudden loss of their home, their belongings, and the place where they felt safe. As you can imagine, this has been incredibly distressing for the family, and the boys are understandably struggling to cope with such a life-changing event.

In an instant, this beautiful family lost their home, their possessions, and their sense of normality. What lies ahead is a long and challenging road as they begin the process of rebuilding their lives from scratch.

We fully understand that many families are doing it tough right now with the rising cost of living. However, Jas and her boys are facing the heartbreaking reality of starting over completely. They are a genuinely deserving family who truly need the support of their community during this incredibly difficult time.

Funds raised will help with immediate essentials and ongoing recovery costs, including:

• Clothing and basic necessities

• Temporary accommodation and living expenses

• Replacing household items and personal belongings

• Supporting the family as they rebuild
