Hi everyone,
I’m setting up this page on behalf of my dearest friends Jamie and Eden during one of the hardest times of their lives.
At just 26 years old, Jamie has recently been diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma which is a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer. In just a few short weeks, their world has been completely turned upside down. Jamie is about to begin an intense and exhausting treatment journey involving long hospital stays, chemotherapy, surgery, and many months focused purely on survival and recovery.
Ewing sarcoma is an extremely rare cancer affecting the bones and surrounding soft tissue that most people have never heard of. Treatment is long, complex, and physically demanding, requiring months of chemotherapy, major surgery, and extended periods in hospital as an inpatient. While treatment can be successful, it is a gruelling process that takes an enormous toll both physically and emotionally.
This diagnosis has changed every aspect of daily life. Jamie, who is self-employed will be unable to work for some time, and Eden will be by his side as much as possible while also trying to hold everything together. Alongside the emotional weight of what they’re facing, there are very real practical pressures including loss of income, frequent travel to and from hospital, and the day-to-day costs of simply getting through each week.
Another heartbreaking reality of Jamie’s treatment is the impact it may have on their future family plans. Treatment carries a high risk of infertility, and while they are currently navigating fertility preservation options, this process brings additional emotional strain and potential financial costs both now and in the future. There is no guarantee that further fertility treatment, such as IVF, will be funded, and this uncertainty is yet another heavy burden they are carrying alongside everything else.
This page exists to help lift some of that burden. Any funds raised will go towards easing the financial strain, allowing Jamie to focus all of his energy on treatment and healing, and giving Eden the space to support him without the constant worry of how they’ll cope financially.
Any donation, no matter how small, will genuinely make a difference. And if you’re not in a position to donate, sharing this page, sending a message, or keeping Jamie and Eden in your thoughts means more than you may realise.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read their story and for any kindness, love, or support you’re able to offer. It truly means the world to them.
