This Is Iyesha’s Story
Over the past three years, Iyesha has shown extraordinary strength from enduring relentless symptoms and advocating for her own health, to recently undergoing major brain surgery to remove multiple tumours from her pituitary gland.
This campaign is about helping her focus on recovery and caring for her family, without the added stress of financial burden. Every donation and share will make a real difference.
Iyesha’s Journey - 2022/2025
In 2022, Iyesha fell pregnant with her first child, Rhya. Throughout her pregnancy, she was in and out of hospital, constantly told her severe sickness was “just pregnancy related.” Each visit ended the same with Panadol, nausea tablets, and reassurance that it was normal.
After giving birth in November 2022, Iyesha began suffering from daily migraines. Once again, doctors dismissed her concerns as postpartum depression and told her she’d eventually be fine.
By September 2023, the headaches had become unbearable. Iyesha was often bedridden, and her mum Treinna and husband Ainsley had to take time off work to care for baby Rhya.
In May 2024, Iyesha fell pregnant with her son, Kyce. During this pregnancy, the headaches eased slightly, but a lump began to grow on the side of her face, just under her ear.
Despite repeatedly asking doctors to review her scans and blood tests, her concerns continued to be brushed aside and told that it’s normal.
Taking matters into her own hands, Iyesha arranged her own blood tests through InstaScripts and paid for an MRI out of pocket.
Finally, Iyesha had answers, she was told she had “non-cancerous” small tumours
As time passed, her pain worsened and the tumours continued to grow.
In February 2025, she gave birth to Kyce. At her six week check up, Iyesha refused to leave the doctor’s office until a proper plan was put in place.
What followed were months of blood tests, biopsies, and specialist appointments in both Gladstone and Brisbane many of which were not covered by Medicare or the public system.
Finally, on the 29th of September 2025 nearly three years after her first symptoms Iyesha underwent major brain surgery to remove a tumour from her pituitary gland.
During the procedure, surgeons also discovered and removed several smaller tumours that showed alignment follicles.
The main tumour was confirmed to be 80% malignant and 20% benign, making the decision to remove the surrounding growths essential to protect her health and prevent future complications.
