Supporting Isa Atkinson & Family
Donation protected

With the approval and blessing of the family, I'm asking that we come together to support Isa and her family during this scary and unknown time. It's hard to ask for help when the world we live in is struggling, but we also believe in miracles and that a community of love will support the needs.
A week ago, Isa was unresponsive and rushed from Hasty, CO, to Colorado Springs, CO (2.5+ hours one way). She is at the hospital and has since been in a coma and on life support. While the exact details are unknown, she was in a diabetic coma due to low sugar. However, she was sitting upright and with oxygen on, and those two reasons helped her immensely. As of yesterday, 2.13.2022, she has brain activity, but they needed to keep her in this specific coma state to lessen seizures (something she struggled with for the first several days she was in the hospital). Her brain and body need time to heal and recover; the future is unknown. Our goal is to get through each day as it comes and have faith she will wake up soon. She is a fighter. She has so much more left to do with her sons and her grandchildren. She hasn't traveled enough, and we are just not done loving and enjoying our time with her.
At this time, there is an immediate need to support the family members who are staying close to her. They advocate with multiple doctors, ensure her home is ready to return to, and talk to her daily, so she is not alone. COVID hospital policies allow one person PER DAY, which means family members are taking turns to lessen the burdens on one specific member. Family flew and drove in from Kentucky, Montana, and Oregon. Unexpected travel expenses during our current global pandemic are impacting family members. There are no resources through the hospital to provide housing to the family, so they are traveling 5 hours a day total if they go back and forth or stay in hotel rooms. The cost of meals, lodging, and gas is starting to pile up, not to mention the loss of wages while away. While the Atkinson family is rallying around Isa and making things work, I feel it's essential to show the family support during this time.
At this time, the funds raised will go directly toward the family's needs to support her. Anything beyond the hotel, food, and gas costs will go directly toward Isa in her recovery needs. She has a long road ahead of her, and we may adjust the monetary goal later. Isa may need additional support once we find out what the future looks like, so we will be sure to update this page.
Thank you for supporting and sharing. We appreciate each person who has helped and the constant prayers.
