Our dear colleague and friend Iris Kaplan passed away suddenly on July 11, 2021. Iris dedicated her entire career to improving services for children and families in the foster care system. Iris was a stellar public servant and a devoted colleague and mentor to many at the NYC Administration for Children’s Services and within the foster care agencies. Iris was the “go-to” and “ask Iris” was a common refrain because she always knew the answer, and you could always count on Iris to be no-nonsense and helpful to get the job done. Iris was a kind and thoughtful colleague and friend and she will be terribly missed. This fund has been established by Iris's friends and colleagues to help Iris’ two sons, Matthew and Joshua, who, sadly, also lost their father just prior to the pandemic.
